Dr. Swetha Thakkar graduated from Manipal University in 2006. Since migrating to Australia in 2009, she has enjoyed working at Nepean Hospital. Along with her overseas experience, she has worked in different subspecialties within pediatrics, including NICU, allergy, behavioral pediatrics, and general pediatrics, for 5 years.

She has had the opportunity to work as an SRMO, rotating through different specialties and learning about Indigenous health at Royal Darwin hospital. She worked around New Castle GP practices to complete her GP training. She enjoys all aspects of general practice, with particular interest in women's and children’s health.

Outside of work, Swetha's interests include spending time with her two children, reading fiction novels, and listening to music.
